hmm thinking about knowledge and aziracrow. how the very first thing we see them do together is create, but also share knowledge with each other. aziraphale asks about how the nebula works and aziraphale, in turn, gets to share that they're creating the earth. with that knowledge, crowley wants to ask questions and change things, leading this his fall. it was obviously never aziraphale's intention to do that, nor do i think crowley blames him, if he even remembers it, but it's still true. their next interaction, now as an angel and a demon, goes similarly. crowley asks a question, a very simple question, really, but he's never been answered before, not even with little things, not before aziraphale. and aziraphale, who's not even supposed to be talking to him, answers easily and also indulges crowley in his mussing about good and bad and the ineffable plan. their next meeting, the flood, crowley once again asks aziraphale a question, what's going on here, do you know anything, and once again, aziraphale answers instantly. and the thing is, crowley didn't even need to ask what was going on because i'm pretty sure when she calls out "oi shem" she was talking to noah's kid, and if she knows noah's kid, why wouldn't she know what was going on? she just wanted to talk to her crush. in job, aziraphale asks about the permit, crowley answers, and very importantly, crowley shares knowledge with aziraphale by showing him food. they literally introduce him to his favorite earthly pleasures and i can't get over how they warrant curiousty in each other. crowley's always been curious, that's why he was cast out, but he actually makes aziraphale curious to fully experience earrh and that is so, so important. next meeting, golgotha, crowley asks about what jesus said to make everyone so angry, despite knowing the guy pretty well, and aziraphale answers. and it goes on and on and on and on and i'm just sick and insane about them encouraging the other to be curious and ask questions and experience things and do you think aziraphale loves books so much because of crowley, because he was always passionate about knowledge and learning and seeing that through the ages changed how aziraphale viewed books and stories and

I'm not a "coffee theory" enthusiast but does anyone else feel like Aziraphale like, literally didn't hear and/or understand a word of Crowley's love confession? And I do mean literally - it seems Aziraphale did not get it at all. He never responds directly to a word that Crowley says about them. I mean Crowley says they've spent their existence pretending not to be a couple and Aziraphale doesn't address that?? Crowley says they can be like Beelz & Gabe and Aziraphale just looks at him like ????? Then Azi just goes "come with me!" almost as if Crowley hasn't spoken. What is this fuckery.

Aziraphale didn't hear anything Crowley was saying because he didn't want to
Crowley is telling him that he wants to run and running is not an option for Azirphale. So if Crowley is confessing this NOW then he is NOT coming with him, so Aziraphale simply refuses to hear it. You can see it when he shakes his head, he's thinking "no no no you're not saying this. not now. not when we have this chance"
Aziraphale really thought this was the perfect way to be together. They would be safe, in heaven, doing good together. The wrong of Crowley's fall could be corrected and he could come home and they could be happy. If Crowley is saying what he's saying now, all of that goes out the window and that is too painful of a reality for Aziraphale to face
He is forced to face it only after the kiss. Crowley's final desperate attempt to snap him out of it, and it does, but not in the way Crowley hopes. It's only then that he accepts Crowley is doing this, he is not coming with him, and they are NOT getting their happily ever after
And that's how we get: "I forgive you"
